This is a short guide on how to do Guided Imagery and Journeying to help you have the most positive and successful experience.

What is Guided Imagery & Journeying?

Guided Imagery and Inner Journeying are an extension of a relaxed or meditative state.

Three Ways To Go On Your Journey

There are four ways to do your Guided Imagery or Journey:

  1. Read the complimentary Journeys Blogs as if you are walking InWorld with Nancy and share the experiences, learn your lessons, and hear your answers.
  2. Purchase an MP3 Guided Journey* from the Sell & Share store and allow Nancy to gently show you the way. If you don’t see a Journey that meets your specific need, you may request a specific journey to be added to the store
  3. Schedule a personal Skype session with Nancy. Personal Journey sessions are available in the Sell & Share store. Once purchased, we will schedule your session and I will request information as to your intention for the journey. At the beginning of the Skype session, I will have some questions and then we will embark.
  4. Schedule a personal Skype retreat with Nancy. You might be interested in spending all or part of the day with Nancy doing InWorld work. A Skype retreat can be a powerful way to be guided on your path! It is not much different from face-to-face retreat time. A retreat can last anywhere from a couple hours to a full day (with a lunch break). You are welcome to have an additional participant with you, sharing the time. Once we determine the length of the retreat, and your purchase is complete, we will have an email exchange prior to the date so that you have all supplies on hand and are ready to begin at the scheduled time. We would then do a meet and greet time, so we are ready to begin. Retreat time will be spent Journeying, reflecting, and discussing what you have learned or processed.

Preparing for Your Journey

If you are doing a Skype Journey with me, you will want to download and setup Skype (this is free). I will record the audio of the session and forward you an unedited MP3 so you can re-listen to the Journey at any future time. I can add a background ambient sound onto the track, which will enable you to re-listen to the journey if you wish to do so.

In preparation for your Journey, you will want to remove all distractions, dress in comfortable loose-fitting clothing, make sure your physical needs are met, and have a journal with you so you can remember your Inner experiences.

About 10 minutes beforehand, begin slowing your life down. Sit comfortably and let the day go. Clear your mind as best as you can, maybe by journaling. If things pop into your mind, make a note of them so you can come back to them later. Mark the emotional state that you are entering as distinct from the ins and outs of your daily life.

Starting your Journey

When you are ready to begin, breathe in a natural relaxed manner. Breathe deeply, all the way to your diaphragm. Be content, quiet, calm. And, begin listening. Be ready to pause as you listen.

Listen or read a couple sentences, or more or less, and pause when you need to in order to sit with the moment—or let it flow within you. (When I am doing my Journeys, this is where I write down what has occurred.) Then, listen some more and repeat.

If you are reading one of my Journeys from the blog, and are then walking the journey with me, there are a couple of notations that I consistently do that you should be aware of. When I put dots (i.e., …), I am suggesting that you do a short pause. When I space down, that is my symbol for a longer pause.

I ask that you do nothing that makes you feel uncomfortable. If, as you are doing a Guided Imagery or an Inner Journey, you begin to feel agitated or any other discomfort, stop what you are doing and walk around. Then, sit and sort out what made you feel the discomfort. It could be the wrong time or something in the outer realms is unresolved enough to have poked through. The Inner Realms are meant to be pleasant.

If you are able to resolve whatever it was that was interfering, and you want to return to the experience right then, you may do so. Or, you may need to wait. All at the right time. All in good time.
